Work description
The work plan will be developed in collaboration with INESC TEC's distributed systems group, and includes the following main tasks: Research in the areas of distributed systems, operating systems and storage systems.
Applying the research carried out to solve challenges of data spaces, cloud computing and advanced computing; Attracting and supervising new researchers and students (undergraduate, master's and doctoral); Preparation of national and international project proposals and participation in funded projects; Coordinating the group's international collaborations with other researchers, and establishing new collaborations. Academic Qualifications
PhD degree in Informatics
Minimum profile required
- PhDs with reduced post-doctoral research experience or no post-doctoral scientific curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying;
- Research experience in monitoring and diagnosing the performance, correctness and resilience of data-driven applications;
- Scientific production (i.e., publications, prototypes, etc.) in the previous topic;
- Experience with observability and monitoring technologies, namely eBPFs;
- Experience using containers, Kubernetes and tools for automating the installation and configuration of applications (e.g. Ansible).
Preference factors
- Participation, possibly including positions of responsibility, in research and development projects;
- Guidance / supervision of other researchers;
- Collaboration with other national and international researchers.
Salary Level In accordance with article 15 of the RJEC and article 2 of Regulatory Decree no. 11-A/2017, of 29 December, the gross monthly base remuneration to be awarded is based on remuneration level 3 of the Investigador Júnior category of the Public Scientific Research Career Statute, with INESC TEC applying its own remuneration table for R&D doctoral employees, with a value of €2860.48 for the equivalent category.
