A postdoctoral fellow is expected to carry out independent and team research within the field in which they are appointed and to carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to the particular field of research.
This appointee will engage in the development of participatory research methods within a multidisciplinary team of impact-focused researchers working at the intersection of communities, technology, and social innovation. Through the application of Design Thinking, Qualitative Research, and/or Business (process) Analysis the role involves supporting an international consortium of researchers in developing and applying methods for stakeholder engagement in occupational health research, as part of the EU project “Healthy Working Environments for all Ages: An evidence-driven framework (WAge)”
Reporting Line: The position reports to the Deputy Director of Action Lab: Malaysia.

Key responsibilities
Specific duties required of a postdoctoral research fellow may include:
1. The conduct of leading research and the production of quality conference or journal papers from the research.
2. Involvement in professional activities including, subject to availability of funds, attendance at conferences or seminars in the field of expertise and showcases/exhibitions corresponding to the research.
3. Coordination and limited administrative functions primarily connected with the corresponding area of research and the resources within Action Lab: Malaysia.
4. Development of a limited amount of research-related material for engagement activities or other purposes with appropriate guidance from other staff.
5. Occasional contributions to teaching in relation to their research project(s).
6. Attendance at meetings associated with research or the work of the organisational unit to which the research is connected and/or at departmental, school and/or faculty meetings and/or membership of a limited number of committees.
7. Advice within the field of research to postgraduate students.
8. Identify funding opportunities and assist in the funding application process. The postdoctoral research fellow is expected to secure international/external funding as the principal investigator.
Key selection criteria
1.PhD (awarded or near completion) with a participatory or design element, in social sciences, business studies, health sciences or interaction design.
2.Demonstrated experience in participatory research or related areas
3.Demonstrated skills in conducting qualitative research, design thinking, and/or business (process) analysis.
4.The ability to work both independently in a research environment and as part of an interdisciplinary research team
5.The ability to solve complex problems by using discretion, innovation and the exercise diagnostic skills and/or expertise
6.High-level organizational skills, with demonstrated capacity to establish and achieve goals.
7.Excellent written and oral communication skills.
8.Demonstrated examples of producing high-quality critical literature reviews.
9. A demonstrated capacity to work in a collegiate manner with other staff.
