The College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University is undertaking an aggressive faculty recruiting campaign to attract culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber. As part of this effort, the College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position to support the mission of Louisiana Tech’s Institute for Micromanufacturing (IfM). The IfM is a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment focused on innovations in multiscale structures, devices and systems. IfM provides education and training to the next generation of scientists and engineers, and a broad range of services to academic and industrial users. The research thrusts of IfM, supported by current experimental capabilities and intellectual capital in micro- and nano- scale fabrication, materials characterization, and computational modeling are: Energy & Environmental Technologies, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, and Bio-nanotechnologies. Successful tenure-track candidates are expected to actively participate in multidisciplinary, experimental research efforts in the College; initiate, build and sustain an externally funded research program; and supervise masters and doctoral students. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong teaching skills, and a commitment to high-quality university and professional service are also expected. The College is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
