Job description:
The Zorlutuna Lab invites applications for one or two postdoc positions in the area of tissue engineered disease models. Current research in the Zorlutuna Lab explores designing biomimetic environments to understand and control cell behavior and cell-cell and cell-environment interactions using tissue engineering and micro-and nano-technology, with an emphasis on designing systems for co-culturing different cell types in a physiologically relevant manner for engineering complex tissues.
Minimum qualifications:
- A PhD degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, with significant research background in cell or tissue engineering,
- Good written, communication, and organizational skills,
- High creativity, self-motivation, and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong track record of publication from their PhD or previous postdoctoral appointments in the above-mentioned research fields.
Preferred qualifications:
Preferred candidates will be expected to have extensive experience in;
- Organoids,
- Extracellular matrix, Decellularized matrices,
- Exosomes,
- Aging,
- Cell response to biochemical, biophysical and mechanical cues, and
- Microfabrication techniques, specifically microfluidics.
Experience in animal experimentation, molecular biology techniques and transcriptomics is a plus.
