The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Tufts University invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level as part of a focused effort to further strengthen key research areas. Exceptional candidates will be considered at other ranks. The anticipated start date is September 2022. Current strengths of the department lie in biomaterials, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, and in sensing systems including medical electronics and optics, instrumentation and measurement. We seek applicants whose research complements our current strengths in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. We especially encourage applicants whose expertise is in cells, tissues and systems related to experimental or computational approaches. We seek individuals who embrace opportunities to work collaboratively within the department as well as across the School of Engineering (SOE) and the University.

The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active, highly visible research program and to demonstrate excellence in teaching, including core biomedical engineering subjects, and in mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates should possess an earned doctorate in biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline.
