Description: The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Missouri (MU) is hiring new faculty members in the areas of Manufacturing, Materials, and Aerospace. Faculty research areas must address the college pillars of pursuit: 1) Educating Engineering Leaders, 2) Big Data Analytics, 3) Biomedical Innovations, and / or 4) Sustainability inFEWSed (Food, Energy, Water, Smart Cities).
The successful candidate will be able to take part in the growth of the College of Engineering and join a rich environment for collaboration with other faculty in Arts & Science, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, and Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. The College of Engineering is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Successful candidates may have a primary appointment (tenure track or tenured) in the College of Engineering and a joint appointment in another college/school depending on their research expertise.
Minimum qualifications require a doctoral degree awarded in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Successful applicants will have:
A record of interdisciplinary research appropriate to the level of the appointment;
A demonstrated ability or strong potential to establish externally funded research programs in the stated areas.
The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in one of the following areas: manufacturing, material science, or aerospace engineering.
We invite applications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. The COE encourages joint appointments with other colleges/schools (e.g., the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, the College of Arts & Science).

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs through the doctoral level. The College of Engineering is home to numerous research centers, signature programs, and laboratories.
