The Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in Water Resources Engineering. Applicants must hold an earned Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and demonstrate the ability and desire to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise graduate students and will have the opportunity to collaborate with members of various campus research centers and the Central Midwest Water Science Center – USGS (Rolla). Applicants should demonstrate potential for high-quality research in water surface hydrology; areas complementing existing strengths and therefore of particular interest are modeling of watershed hydrologic processes and water quality; ecohydrology; land surface-vegetation-atmosphere interaction; use of informatics in water surface hydrology; flood hydrology; use of remote sensing and radar for data collection and analysis. The ideal candidate’s scholarship will demonstrate a capacity to have broad impacts and possible technology transfer.
Missouri S&T is a public research university with a focus on engineering and sciences. CArEE has 24 tenure-line faculty, 6 teaching faculty, and numerous research faculty and staff. We have a graduate-student enrollment of approximately 130 students (M.S. and PhD, about 60% PhD), and ~ 490 undergraduate students, sophomore – senior.
