The Department of Computer Engineering and Sciences at Florida Tech is seeking
applications for teaching-focused faculty in Systems Engineering, beginning as
early as August 2022. The position will be non-tenure track, and carry the title of
instructor, visiting, or teaching-track. Required qualifications include an earned
Ph.D. in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering,
software engineering, or closely related field, and a sincere interest in quality
teaching, predominantly at the graduate level. Applicants from all areas of
engineering are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to applicants
who have a background in systems engineering and experience with government
(e.g., DOD, NASA) and commercial (e.g., transportation, medical, energy sectors)
systems engineering projects.

The department has ABET accredited programs in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering as well as SACS
regionally accredited graduate programs including Systems Engineering. Florida
Tech is an NSA/DHS designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense
Research, and new faculty may also have the opportunity to work with the Harris
Institute for Assured Information.

Florida Tech is located in Melbourne on Florida’s Space Coast, one of the nation’s
fastest growing high – tech areas. A number of major corporations have a local
presence, including General Electric, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
The campus is 5 minutes from the Indian River estuary, only 10 minutes from the
Atlantic Ocean and 50 minutes from both Kennedy Space Center and Orlando. For
