The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate. The Research Associate will support the research for the project involving the use of membrane technology for desalination, resource recovery, and clean energy production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct membrane related projects for desalination, water reuse, resource recovery etc. Specific work includes experimental setup design and construction, experiment design and testing, process modelling, data processing and reporting, progress report preparation, paper publication, assistance in research proposal preparation, etc.

• Mentor junior master students, undergraduate students for their research projects.

• Publish research data, prepare project progress report.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree from a reputable university in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, etc. 

• Relevant research experience on membrane technology and separation technologies

• Relevant research experience in the fabrication/synthesis of RO/NF/FO/PRO/ion exchange membranes/organic solvent membranes and/or organic chemical synthesis, and membrane/separation process development will be preferred.

• Good journal paper publication record

• Good report writing skill

• Excellent oral presentation skill

• Able to multitask

• Self-motivated and able to work on your own and in a team

• Good interpersonal skills

• Good communication and writing in English as required to publish research data.

• Strong responsibility for research
