Description

West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications and nominations for the following employment opportunity:

The Department of Engineering Technology within the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences, seeks to hire an Associate/Full Professor and Program Director for the new undergraduate Construction Management program scheduled to start in the Fall 2018 semester. Position is 9-month, full-time, tenure-track, and benefits-eligible.

The successful candidate will be overseeing program development and growth; hiring of new faculty members; recruiting and advising students; facilitating and overseeing internships; overseeing assessment, accreditation and program review processes, and building a strong connection with the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industries. The successful candidate will be expected to teach, pursue scholarly activities and perform other service associated with a faculty position.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. degree in Construction Management or terminal degree in a field relative to the discipline is required. The candidate must have at least seven years of college-level teaching experience in the field and minimum of five years of relevant U.S. construction industry experience. Familiarity with ABET or ACCE accreditation is highly desirable. Commitment to teaching excellence, responsiveness to student needs, and good communication skills are essential.
