Wilkes University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management within the College of Science and Engineering starting August 2022. This is a tenure-track position. The BS Mechanical Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET and is delivered with emphases on fostering a mentoring culture, learning by hands-on experiences, and developing industry connections. The program is long established in the local region.

The successful candidate is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising students, and participating in the typical functions of an academic department. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field is required. The ideal candidate will have expertise in fluid mechanics with particular applications in civil engineering. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education including laboratory instruction. Successful candidates will demonstrate evidence of potential in undergraduate and graduate teaching and research as well as the ability to work effectively with others. Teaching experience is desirable, including the teaching and development of civil engineering undergraduate courses. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
