Audio Software Developer to join a team of experts in a research project in the field of
Spatial Audio Hardware and Software.
This
Research to Business (R2B) Project is co-funded by Business Finland, with the aim of establishing a startup company commercializing the project results.
We are now looking for an Audio Software Developer to join the R2B project, with a later possibility to join the planned startup as a key team member.
Responsibilities
As an Audio Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development of real-time audio processes, focusing on implementing novel algorithms for Spatial Audio. Collaborating closely with a team of Spatial Audio researchers, you will contribute to the creation of proof of concepts and actively engage in cutting-edge research activities. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Acquaint yourself with and manage an existing library of MATLAB and C/C++ code for Spatial Audio applications.
- Collaborate with the team to implement new algorithms in real-time using C++.
- Evaluate potential integration challenges and devise strategic plans to overcome them.
- Identify potential risks associated with software implementations and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Assess the scalability of the software to ensure it accommodates future growth seamlessly.
Who Are We Looking For
We are looking for a software developer with a keen interest in bringing an innovative Spatial Audio product to market. While you don't need to be a Spatial Audio expert, we value individuals who share a genuine passion for creating something new and are eager to contribute to building a successful commercial business.
The position is envisioned as a full-time occupation in the capital area of Helsinki, Finland.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience with MATLAB or Python.
- Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing.
- Fluency in English, with good verbal communications skills.
- Master's degree (or soon to be completed degree) in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with C/C++.
- Experience developing real-time audio applications (e.g., audio plug-ins, using JUCE/iPlug2).
- Experience in a startup or other technology-driven environment is a plus.
- Background in Spatial Audio.
