The Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering (OME) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU, www.fau.edu/engineering/ome/) is inviting applications for assistant professor tenure-track positions in the broad areas of structures, spacecraft structures, high performance novel composites, novel engineering materials, manufacturing, additive manufacturing, machine design, and energy conversion with a strong focus in Mechanical Engineering, with applications to Aerospace Engineering and Ocean Engineering (e.g., marine renewable energy, energy capture). Exceptional candidates in other areas of research will also be considered. Interest in these areas is consistent with FAU’s strategic plan “Race to Excellence” and aims to build on and strengthen the university’s core research strength in mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering. The assistant professor will split their time between the Boca Raton and Dania Beach campuses. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis through the deadline.
The Department of Ocean and Mechanical Engineering (OME) at FAU has a student body of over 600 undergraduate and 110 graduate students.
