We are seeking renowned scholar with rich management experience who can lead the largest program in the College of Engineering at Tuskegee University

Job Description
The Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) will lead a teaching and research-balanced department, providing vision in concert with strategic planning of the department, which aligns with the goals, and strategic plan of the university.  The Chair will lead the department to advance and accelerate research, innovation   and education  and facilitate collaborations across the university as well as nationally   and internationally. The Chair will be responsible for departmental strategic planning, personnel and facility management, student retention, curriculum development, maintaining ABET accreditation standards, cultivating research initiatives within the department, and other required duties.

   Minimum Qualifications

An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering. Proven track record of accomplishment of leadership, research scholarship, technical refereed publications, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels that warrants a tenured track appointment at the rank of Associate/Full Professor. Demonstrated administrative leadership and experience in higher education such as the director of a research center or research institute, chair/head of an academic department, or comparable position with responsibilities that included budgeting, strategic planning, personnel management, performance reviews, and promotion and tenure decisions. Knowledgeable in higher education systems including ABET accreditation.
