Power Systems - Renewable Energy Communities operation and planning

 

Work description

  • Characterize the state of the art in the field of energy communities and the optimization algorithms for their operation.
  • Contribute to the specification, development of algorithms for optimization of energy communities.
  • Specify and design incentive mechanisms for the exchange of energy consumption related data.
  • Develop and implement an algorithm to encourage data exchanges with successful testing on a platform with user data.
  • Carry out a curricular unit of transversal skills; - write the scholarship activity report.

 

Minimum profile required

  • Master in electrical engineering, energy systems, mathematics or other similar field.
  • Knowledge of algorithm development and programming.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).

 

Preference factors

  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts related to renewable energy communities.
  • Knowledge of optimization and forecasting models.
  • Knowledge of Python (or similar).

 

Maintenance stipend: € 1259,64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

 

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

 

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
