Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Penn State Behrend, invites candidates to apply for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in Computer Engineering starting fall 2023. Candidates across all areas of computer engineering, including systems and architecture, computer networks and data communication, image and video processing, and cyber physical systems will be considered. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in computer or electrical engineering or a closely related field by the start of employment.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of computer engineering courses such as computer networks, operating systems, digital design, computer architecture, and/or microprocessors; establish a successful research program; and to demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and undergraduate education.
Research at Behrend is integrated into the learning experience for our faculty and undergraduate students. Research can be fundamental or applied and supports our Open Lab philosophy, where learning and discovery are applied to solve problems defined in partnership with external stakeholders. Cross-disciplinary and collaborative research is encouraged.
