Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Associate position in the Center for Graphene Research and Innovation at the University of Mississippi. The center specializes in fundamental and applied research related to graphene and other 2D materials. The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary research team on utilizing graphene and graphene-like materials for smart infrastructure applications (cement and asphalt), multifunctional polymer composites, membranes, structural foams, and self-sensing materials. The candidate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the design, fabrication, and characterization of graphene-enabled materials for the above applications, as well as modifying the surface chemistry of graphene and improving its dispersion in polymers and other matrix materials. Other responsibilities include 1) mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students, 2) preparing research results and writing manuscripts for publication, and 3) assisting with grant writing. This position is available for one year with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon availability of funding.
