The Combustion and Energy Transport (CET) Lab at University at Buffalo, State University of New York (UB- SUNY) has an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate, available immediately. The position is to support a new DoE supported initiative in biomass combustion, in collaboration with Ohio State University, Oak Ridge National Labs and Buck Stoves. The focus in biomass combustion complements ongoing CET programs that includes a newly developed Center for Hybrid Rocket Exascale Simulation Technology (CHREST) supported by the DoE PSAAP III program. The PostDoc researcher is expected to play a key role in the modeling and experimental activities related to reducing emissions from biomass driven heating appliances. The researcher should have knowledge of modeling combustion processes, proficiency in Matlab, Python and Cantera, and preferably some experimental lab experience. The position also requires the ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The position is subject to annual renewal based on satisfactory review.
