The Departments of Bioengineering (BE) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Oakland University (OU) invite applicants for a tenure-track faculty position with joint appointments in BE and ECE at the rank of Assistant Professor of Engineering starting in August 2022. The primary appointment will be in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. We encourage applicants with interdisciplinary expertise from various areas of bioengineering and electrical and computer engineering to apply. Teaching, research, or applied experience in artificial intelligence, imaging, electronics and controls in prosthetics, bio/medical devices and instrumentation, or related areas are preferred.
Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related fields. ABD will be considered. Research and teaching with commitment to excellence is required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop ECE and BE undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories, initiate, and integrate strong research programs, direct graduate students, and attract external research funding. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
