Job Description
Stevens Institute of Technology is looking to hire a Research Assistant Professor to work in the Davidson Laboratory. The appropriate candidate must have a PhD in Coastal/Ocean Engineering or a related field and a PE license. The appropriate candidate will have experience working on coastal hazard and risk assessment projects. Desired qualifications include:
- Experience with mentoring students
- A record of previous peer-reviewed publications
- Documented teaching experience
Additional requirements dictated by the funding source include:
- Experience with field instrumentation including: GPS systems, current profilers, wave gauges, and UAVs
- Experience with numerical modeling software including Delft3D and XBeach
- Experience with operational storm erosion forecast systems
- Experience with data-driven modeling techniques including machine learning and fragility curves
- Experience working on living shoreline projects
- Experience writing technical reports for state/federal agencies
- Experience defending technical reports in a legal setting
