Locomotion Robotics

 

Work description

1. Bibliographical review / survey of the state of the art in the area of mobile robotics solutions for intralogistics and industrial inspection, focusing on the use of robots with legs;

2. Specification of an architecture for a quadruped robot to inspect industrial facilities or internal logistics of small products;

3. Definition of a scenario for testing in iiLab;

4. Installation of the necessary sensors and actuators on the robot to carry out intralogistics and inspection tasks;

5. Development of an application to configure the task to be performed by the robot;

6. Carrying out functional tests on the developed system.

 

Academic Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar areas.

 

Minimum profile required

Enrollment in a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related areas.

 

Preference factors

  • Programming knowledge in C/C++ and Python;
  • ROS knowledge;
  • Knowledge of locomotion robotics;

 

Maintenance stipend: € 601,12, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
