Job Description:
Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track) and Endowed Dr. James Russell Myers STEM Professorship in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology with an emphasis on Robotics. Start date may be January 2025 or August 2025. The successful candidate will primarily teach and develop undergraduate courses and laboratories in both Electrical Engineering (such as circuit analysis, electronics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), digital signal processing, wireless communications, and embedded systems) and the Robotics and Autonomous Systems fields (such as dynamics and controls, robot programming, image processing, computer vision, haptics, and machine learning). The faculty member will also be responsible for and conducting research in the relevant field, advise students, and provide service to the institution and profession. Additionally, the faculty member will contribute to maintaining ABET accreditation standards.

The Engineering Technology Department currently offers ABET/ETAC-accredited bachelor's completion degree programs with concentrations in Electrical and Computer, Mechanical, and Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, as well as associate degree programs in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology. Additionally, the department has recently launched a new bachelor’s completion degree in Robotics Engineering Technology. Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as Assistant Professor. In addition to a doctoral degree, an appointment as Associate Professor requires established record of research/scholarship.

Consideration may be given to candidates with the ability to develop or teach courses such as computer vision, haptics, applied machine learning, image processing, data analytics, and electric power systems; at least one year of industry experience and/or at least one year of teaching and developing undergraduate courses in Engineering Technology; evidence of securing external funding in relevant areas; a Professional Engineering License; technologically current work experience in circuit design, microcontroller and embedded systems, wireless communication, computer vision, industrial automation, and autonomous navigation; evidence of experience in electrical and electronics, electromechanical or mechatronics, robotics and autonomous systems, machine learning; and evidence of peer-reviewed publications in relevant research areas.
