The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Wayne State University (WSU) seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, although exceptional candidates at a higher rank are also invited to apply. Applicants should have a PhD in chemical engineering or a closely related discipline, a record of excellence in research, and a commitment to teaching and working with a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students. Successful candidates are expected to develop a federally funded research program that is nationally and internationally recognized, as well as demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science seeks exceptional candidates, and has particular interest in those who pursue experimental chemical, biological or materials engineering research to address the world's most difficult energy, climate, health, and sustainability challenges. Current research strengths of the department include bio- and nano-materials, energy storage, molecular modeling, process control, and process systems engineering.
