Work description

1. Characterize the state of the art in the field of hybrid storage systems and perspectives of their evolution taking into account different use cases;
2. Contribute to the development and implementation of tools in the energy area, involving hybrid storage systems, renewable production, isolated systems, system services, system dynamics and stability;
3. Develop APIs for the exchange of information between systems and to enable interaction between new tools and existing platforms;
4. Specify virtual power plants and their functional applications based on hybrid storage systems and aiming at providing specific system services.
5. Attend a curricular unit of transversal competences;
6. Write the grant activity report.

Minimum profile required

• Knowledge in programming;
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preference factors

• Capability to analyze and process data relating to the operation and control of energy systems;
• Experience or knowledge of fundamental concepts of dynamics and stability of isolated systems;
• Experience or knowledge of energy conversion systems for storage devices or renewable systems;
• Knowledge of Python (or similar);
• Knowledge in the area of energy transition and digitalization;
• Knowledge of electrical energy storage systems.
