Position Summary:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Villanova University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Electrical Engineering starting in August 2023. Candidates with a proven record of research and publications are sought in the broad area of microwave/RF engineering and electromagnetics; however, candidates in other areas of Electrical Engineering may also be considered.
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has established laboratories in the both the microwave/RF engineering and electromagnetics/antenna areas. The Department hosts the Microwave and Electromagnetics Laboratory which is the focal point for education and research in the radio frequency (RF) range up through Ku-band in the microwave regime (1 MHz-18 GHz). The department also enjoys access to the Antenna Research Laboratory, an indoor facility, which includes a 29' x 27' x 28' anechoic chamber (compact range) capable of fully automated high-quality pattern and gain measurements from 2-75 GHz, is equipped with the latest antenna and microwave design and measurement tools. The test facilities also include a planar near-field antenna test system from 750 MHz – 10 GHz.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses at all levels of the electrical engineering curriculum, develop new courses that align with their area of research, establish a sponsored and sustainable research program, advise undergraduate and graduate students and projects, and supervise research performed by undergraduate, Master's and Ph.D. students.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field with strong engineering expertise, a strong record of high-quality publications, a potential to lead an externally-funded research program, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovation.
