About This Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, which has 26 permanent faculty positions and over 1,300 students, offers undergraduate courses in the traditional sub-disciplines of mechanical engineering (energy science, materials and manufacturing, mechatronics, design and analysis), general engineering sciences, and graduate courses leading to a Master of Science in Applied Engineering (with concentrations in Energy Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, and Engineering Management). Both the curricular and the research activities of the faculty have a strong applied emphasis, bridging theory with practice, extending the learning environment beyond the classroom, and offering a student-centered environment enhanced by technology and transcultural experiences within private and public partnerships. |
