The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering and Computer Science seeks dynamic scholars to fill two tenure-track faculty positions in 1) computational or experimental thermo-fluid sciences or advanced energy systems and 2) fields intersecting the strategic areas of Materials Science and Health identified in Baylor’s Illuminate vision document and that complement areas of departmental expertise, which include but are not limited to: additive manufacturing, biomaterials, and biomechanics. The positions will begin in August 2019 at the Assistant Professor level. Responsibilities include active research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, course curriculum development, and professional service. Competitive startup packages will accompany the positions. Requirements include an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, outstanding English communication skills, a commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated research achievement, and a commitment to professional activities.
