The Department is flexible about the research area for applicants. As the successful candidate, you will complement the Department’s present research activities, such as energy, catalysis, food processing and biotechnology but are not limited to these particular topics. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching in the bioprocess engineering minor along with traditional core chemical engineering subjects.

At Lecturer level, you will have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (or a closely aligned discipline), be able to demonstrate strength in research, and demonstrate a commitment to quality teaching.

At the Senior Lecturer level, you will be established as a researcher in chemical engineering and demonstrate a commitment to quality teaching. You will need a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (or a closely aligned discipline) and a strong record of publishing in internationally respected journals. For candidates with significant academic experience, you will also need to demonstrate an ability to attract and successfully supervise postgraduate students. The successful candidate at either level will be encouraged to develop a strong, externally-funded research programme. They will also be expected to collaborate with other academics in the Department’s teaching and research activities.

The Department is strong and forward-looking and is dedicated to excellence in research and teaching. We have recently moved into a new 3,000 sqm building which houses modern research & teaching areas and fully staffed technical workshops.
